We're trying to figure out what?

(all the latest poop & excuses)

Okay, I'm running a little late. For a change. But this book writin' business can get kinda involved. Plus I tend to get a little distracted with magazine commitments, speaking engagements, neat old car events and assorted track-day instruction & ride-mooch opportunities once the summer racing season rolls around (I know, I know, I'm supposed to stay chained to my keyboard until the damn thing is done, but the sound of racing engines and scent of Castrol fumes are in the air, and I just can't help myself....)

Not to mention that the story I'm trying to tell has turned out to be a little longer than I originally anticipated. Like I'm 20 chapters and 600+ typed pages (about 400-odd "book" pages) into the new manuscript and still have quite a ways to go, and am currently toying with the thought of breaking The 200mph Steamroller into a Part 1 and Part 2. We'll see. The good news is that it's very funny (maybe the funniest one since The Last Open Road?), includes some fairly hysterical new characters and situations and covers a really incredible era in both motorsports and the world in general.
