Plans Change
Well, it seems we had a rainstorm of biblical proportions and a bit of a flood while I was away at Pittsburgh for the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix this past weekend. Suffice to say that our fine suburb received major network news coverage and National Disaster Area status (the fine folks from FEMA will be here Tuesday) and we had about 4-1/2 feet of water in our just-redone finished basement with my late mom's old upright piano floating merrily across the floor, canoes paddling by in the street, etc.. My poor & long-suffering wife Carol was home alone (or with our beloved Fox Terrier "Buddy," anyway) packing for our long-planned California road trip/book tour/vacation while I was off having fun, talking cars and racing and signing a whole bunch of books.
I owe her bigtime!
In any case, this means that our California plans will be changing somewhat as we've got a lot of cherished things to throw out, mud to squeegee and insurance people to argue with. I'll up date everyone as soon as I get a better handle on things, but the book signing at Autobooks/Aerobooks in Burbank on July 31st will surely have to be re-scheduled. Everything else will hopefully come off as planned. We'll keep you posted.
